Tractors Torn Down

In nearly every instance of a tractor theft, the purpose is for removal of
component parts, which are then sold.  The engine will bring thieves a nice
sum of money, and also the transmission and its parts.  A bare cab from a
stolen tractor will bring little more than scrap price – but they will take what
they can get.

Stolen parts wind up installed in seemingly legitimate trucks.  Many
purchasers have no idea that indeed they are buying hot material.  The
attitude in the industry is to keep the wheels rolling all the time.  When a
truck breaks down because of a blown engine or transmission, purchasers
are looking for the best price at the quickest time period available.
